A firm commitment to diversity and public service
The board of directors of COGAM wanted to highlight the role of José Pablo López as a pillar against misinformation and hate speech. In a complex media landscape, the manager has managed to consolidate RTVE as a space of diverse representation, where the reality of the LGTBI+ group is addressed with rigor and normalization.
The jury emphasizes that his management has allowed public media to function as guarantors of human rights. Under his direction, inclusive narratives have gained ground against stereotypes, fulfilling the social mission of bringing the plurality of Spanish society closer to all homes.

During those four years, he led a modernization process focused on regaining credibility and professional independence. Its strategy made it possible to open the radio microphones and public television cameras to real diversity, strengthening the medium’s link with the Madrid citizens and laying the foundations for transparent management.
