- The organization launches the motto “All realities, a single pride” to make visible how origin, age or social class crosses the collective.
- The driving group reaches its historical record of involvement with a total of 16 social entities coordinating the political strategy of the edition.
- The cultural programming will run from June 27 to July 19, moving the large musical stages to the city center.
The articulation of intersectionality of LGBTQIA+ rights has become the definitive political axis of the new edition of Pride Barcelona. The Organizing Committee of the entity has formally presented this Wednesday at the Time Out Market facilities its social and protest campaign for this year 2026. The public event, led by the president Ferran Poca and the vice president Maria Giralt, has served to reveal a deep visibility agenda that seeks to combat reactionary hate speech by diversifying the stories and material experiences of the people who make up the community.
The historical record of the associative fabric in the motor group
This year’s call stands out for having consolidated the largest community cooperation network in the organization’s recent history in the Catalan capital. A total of 40 social entities co-organize the general event, while 16 of them have been directly integrated into the so-called driving group. This record figure demonstrates the cohesion of Barcelona activism when it comes to structuring a pride with strong territorial roots, a marked political nature and managed in a fully collective way.
The motto chosen to structure the actions of this exercise is “All realities, one pride”, under the framework concept of the intersectional perspective as a mathematical formula to decipher human diversity. The theoretical proposal determines that no individual in the community can be defined strictly by a single element. Thus, material factors such as ethnicity, age, administrative situation, disability, socioeconomic class or geographical origin inevitably intersect with sexual orientation or gender identity, conditioning real access to equality.

The periodic table of identities: portraits against hate
The artistic expression of this political theory has given rise to a series of nine protest posters that use a very unique scientific metaphor. The campaign is visually inspired by the universal structure of the periodic table of chemical elements. In this way, instead of combining elements of matter, each advertising piece combines identities, social categories and shared experiences to make up a large mosaic that demonstrates that the rainbow flag is not only made up of colors, but of complex human stories.
The production of these images has included the creative direction of designer Daniel Jarque and the work of photographer Pedro Quintana, who have portrayed real people from the collective who embody these intersecting realities. During the event, the spokespersons insisted that the defense of intersectionality of LGBTQIA+ rights is a democratic urgency in a hostile international context, where reactionary sectors try to dehumanize vulnerable groups and reverse the legal consensus reached in Spain in recent years.
Visibility agenda: cinema, debates on chemsex and inclusive sport
The sociocultural programming will break the limits of the usual holidays, occupying the city’s calendar from June 27 to July 19, 2026. All activities proposed by the entities of the driving group are free and open access. The main events will begin on June 30 at the Center Cívic Urgell with the screening of the documentary Cashing Out, a BCN Checkpoint initiative aimed at analyzing the first years of the HIV/AIDS health crisis that will feature a subsequent debate.
On Friday, July 3, the Arena Xperience space will host the community day Let’s Talk About Chuches, also coordinated by BCN Checkpoint. The event will address the phenomenon of chemsex from a harm reduction perspective, free of stigma and combining humorous monologues with drag art shows. Inclusive sport will arrive on July 5 with the celebration of the Queers League at the Center Esportiu Municipal Vila Olímpica under the organization of Tiresias, configuring a football tournament free of discrimination based on body or gender.
The migratory reflection will have its space on July 8 thanks to the round table Queer Asian Diasporas, managed in collaboration with Casa Asia to analyze cultural and identity clashes in the migrant population. On Thursday, July 9, the LGTBIQ+ Chamber of Catalonia will take over the direction of the Think Plus conference, a congress dedicated to evaluating good practices in occupational health and diversity in the company environment that will conclude with a musical intervention by the Doctor Prats group.
Trans Vermouth, film festivals and the central demonstration
The final stretch of the social agenda will begin on Saturday, July 11, with the development of a new edition of the famous Vermut Trans, a festive rally to promote the specific demands of non-binary and trans identities. On Tuesday, July 14, Casal Lambda will present a traveling session of its film festival FIRE!! at the Ateneu Fort Pienc. on Tour, screening international short films that explore the intersection between religion, culture and sexual diversity. Finally, on July 15, the international technical seminar Intersectionality without Borders will be organized, with delegates from global entities.
The purely festive and musical aspect of the 2026 edition of Pride Barcelona will be revealed on June 25 through the organization’s digital platforms. However, Ferran Poca has already confirmed that the main stages will return to the geographic center of Barcelona from July 16 to 18. The official proclamation will be read on Thursday the 16th in Plaza Universitat, a space that next to Paseo de Lluís Companys will host free musical performances on Friday and Saturday nights.
This year’s big demonstration will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. The dissident march will formally depart from Plaza Universitat, will run along Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes until reaching Plaza de Tetuan, and will descend along Paseo de Lluís Companys until its conclusion at the Arc de Triomf, where the political manifesto will be read. The presentation of the campaign at the Time Out Market concluded with concerts by the artists Hugo Marlo and Michelle Relayze, who recalled that this technical and associative deployment underpins the official candidacy of the Catalan capital to become the organizing headquarters of WorldPride 2030.
