Melody has already set foot on the Eurovision 2025 stage, and she has done so with the scenic force of someone who has mastered her art for more than two decades. With her first rehearsal at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, the Spanish representative has revealed a transformed version of her proposal for ESA DIVA, both technically and aesthetically.

The performance we saw at the Benidorm Fest is now just a memory. The creative team has taken the initial concept to a new level, with a narrative divided into three acts that follow one another with energy, precision and evident emotional growth. The result? A polished, sophisticated show with a very clear visual language, but also full of soul.
Goodbye to the swing, hello to stage narrative
Those who follow Eurovision closely on social networks have not been slow to comment on the changes. As read in several profiles: “This song conveys all the party vibes of the summer, and the dance remix was just the beginning of the total change that this performance has undergone since Melody won the Benidorm Fest at the beginning of February. Melody coming down on a swing at the beginning, the throne, the pink neon… all that is gone.”

Now, the approach is more narrative, more theatrical, more symbolic. From the first shot—in which we see Melody in shadow against a white background, creating a perfectly defined silhouette—the performance guides the viewer on a visual journey divided into three acts:
-
Act I (violet): Mystery and empowerment. Here the concept is introduced with contained intensity.
-
Act II (red): Emotional explosion, strength and movement.
-
Act III (white): Visual and sound catharsis, with a background that merges with an imposing projected mountain.
Each section has its own aesthetic: “Now the staging feels much more polished and sophisticated, and there is a clear narrative that divides the song into three distinct acts, each full of energy and emotion. But it’s not just a matter of sensations: each act has its own colors and graphics, from purple in the first to red in the second, and pure white at the end, which merges with the background of mountains at the back of the stage.”
Melody is accompanied by five dancers—three men and two women—with different choreographies in each block: “Each act also features a different combination of dancers, and the choreographies change with each act. The structure of the performance is really clever, and despite its complexity, she dominates the stage from start to finish.”
Technique without losing your soul
This first rehearsal, more technical than spectacular, served for Melody and her team to adjust all the gears. From 10:30 in the morning they were already rehearsing at the hotel, and at night they faced the real spotlights.
On stage, his magnetic presence guides every shot, every movement. Even in the midst of a technical test, he knew how to fill the stage with expressiveness and control. The work of director Mario Ruiz and the supervision of Mercè Llorens from RTVE are palpable in every detail.
The performance combines artistic direction, dance and millimeter production (18 cameras, 87 shots), which will probably continue to be adjusted. But even now, the general feeling is that of a robust number, growing with every second.
Costume that imposes without shouting
We cannot ignore one of the great successes: the costumes. Several comments have already highlighted it: “We have to talk about Melody’s wardrobe, because it is absolutely fabulous. A black corset with pointed details on the shoulders and hips—it reminds us of a black orchid—combined with a black fedora-type hat and high boots.”
That initial image, in shadow against a white background, underlines the sophisticated aesthetic of the entire performance: “The silhouette of everything, from her nails to her hairstyle, is a true work of art.”

In addition to the black suit, Melody also wears the now famous rhinestone bodysuit with more than 15,000 crystals, evolved from the Benidorm Fest to an even more luxurious and resounding version. Completing the connection with her roots, one of the outfits reinterprets the Andalusian bata de cola in a black dress with structured ruffles that evoke the thorns of a rose bush. Everything carefully calculated, even the microphone, decorated with rhinestones.
A closing that leaves you speechless
One of the most talked about moments of the rehearsal was the closing of the performance. The last section includes a dance sequence that has generated a real stir: “The dance in the last ten seconds is a real moment — we’re not going to tell you about it, because we couldn’t do it justice. But wait and see.”
The combination of choreographic direction (by Mónica Peña and Álex Bullón), visual narrative and interpretive force gives rise to an apotheotic closing. What began as a simple performance transforms into a complete stage experience.
What’s coming: second essay and more revelations
The next rehearsal is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at 3:10 p.m.. Then, the organization will reveal official images and partial recording will be allowed from the stadium. It will be time to see how much more this proposal can grow, which is already emerging as one of the most worked on in this edition.
The expectation is high. And Melody, more than ready. Are we about to experience a historic moment for Spain in Eurovision?
