Barcelona is preparing to host the Barcelona Queer Film Festival for the second time, an event that promises to fill the screens and hearts of all lovers of cinema and LGTBIQ+ culture. Beyond film screenings, this festival stands as a fundamental meeting point for queer reflection, art and literature. Are you ready to immerse yourself in stories that challenge convention and celebrate diversity?
Three Days to Mark on the Calendar and Much More
The central screenings of the festival will take place on 28, 29 and 30 November 2025 at the emblematic Cinema Maldà in Barcelona. However, the celebration of queer culture is not limited to just these days. The organizers have prepared activities related to queer literature and art in the previous days, creating an atmosphere of cultural effervescence that invites us to explore new perspectives and enrich each other.

- Fiction Feature Film
- Documentary Feature Film
- Fiction or Documentary Short Film
- Musical video
But attention! The deadline for submitting films, short films and video clips ends on September 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CEST. So, if you have a work that fits, don’t leave it to the last minute!
What Happens After Sending Your Work?
Once the registration period closes, the festival will notify those selected of their participation on October 1, 2025. From that moment on, filmmakers must send the necessary material for the screening, including high-quality digital files (MP4 H.264, MOV, minimum resolution FULL HD), photographs, press kit, film poster and a trailer. The deadline for the delivery of all this material is October 15, 2025. The festival organization reserves the right to reject participation if the files are not received on time.
It is crucial that participants ensure that their works comply with copyright. In the event of unforeseen events, the festival could change its dates, but all updated information will be announced on its website and Instagram. Participating implies fully accepting these regulations.
This festival is not just an event; It is a platform, a speaker and a safe space for the voices of the LGTBIQ+ community. What do you think these spaces mean for representation and visibility in film and art? How do you think art can contribute to building a more inclusive society?
