Everything ready in the capital for the great night of diversity. COGAM has revealed the last names that were missing to complete the mosaic of its Triángulo Awards 2026, an edition that coincides with the 40th anniversary of the entity. The final announcement reinforces the political and academic nature of the awards that this year have not been afraid to look at both local institutions and the complex international board.
Luisa Notario: The soul of lesbian visibility
The Pedro Zerolo Triangle Award, the award most linked to memory and institutional struggle, goes this year to Luisa Notario. With more than twenty years of activism behind her, Notario made history by being the first woman to coordinate the Lambda Collective of Valencia and, later, the first visible lesbian councilor in the Valencian council. COGAM recognizes in her the perfect bridge between the street and the institutions, a voice that has been “essential” for LGTBI+ families to gain space on the public agenda.
Science, alliances and a warning to the world
The academic aspect comes from the hand of Virginia Rodríguez Herrero, awarded with the Aliada Triangle. His research work in family diversity and educational rights demonstrates that the alliance with the group is also built with data, rigor and commitment from the university.
On the contrary, the Pink Brick – the award that no one wants to receive – crosses the pond to point out Donald Trump. With this gesture, COGAM gives names and surnames to those who lead the rollback of rights at a global level, warning that freedoms in Spain cannot ignore the threats that come from world powers.
A ceremony with a queer rhythm
The gala on May 28 (7:00 p.m.) promises to be a spectacle in itself. It will be presented by Odín Maldonado and Bake Gómez, two references in queer and feminist communication. The rhythm will be set by pop star Sofía Martín and the La Pastilla Gay show, ensuring that COGAM’s 40th anniversary is as much a vindication as it is a party.
This announcement closes a luxury line-up that already included figures such as Alba Flores, Alana S. Portero, Eduardo Casanova, Samantha Hudson and José Pablo López.
