  • Under the motto “In the towns where there is Pride and Memory, there is no room for LGTBIQphobia”, the Murcian municipality celebrates its big event on Saturday, June 6.
  • The day will feature a performance by the Rainbow Voices choir, the EPÉNTICA 2026 recognitions and a proclamation by Carmen Muriana.
  • The event focuses on rural visibility and the importance of references in non-urban environments.

Not a step back in the garden. The municipality of Beniel is preparing to receive a new edition of its LGTBIQ+ Pride, a celebration that under the label “Rural Pride” seeks to demonstrate that diversity is the best fertilizer for coexistence in towns. With programming that combines grassroots politics, trans education and artistic spectacle, Beniel is positioned as the beacon of freedom in the Region of Murcia for this month of June.

Manifestation, memory and “closet”

The day will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Plaza Ramón y Cajal. It won’t just be a party; The protest demonstration will include banners, megaphones and a symbolic staging with a “closet” that the residents of Beniel are determined to leave empty.

Activism will have key moments with the presentation of the Trans Educational Protocol by Lucas Carrillo and the manifesto proclamation by Carmen Muriana. In addition, the EPÉNTICA 2026 Recognitions will be awarded, which reward the work of people and entities in favor of real equality.

The artistic section is a display of regional and local talent that ensures the enjoyment of all attendees. We will have the special collaboration of the Rainbow Voices choir (the LGTBIQ+ choir of the Region of Murcia), in addition to performances by Alex Guirado, Tina X and dance groups such as Alicia Navarro and La Tribu.

The night will close with the energy of the Bancal de Candanga collectives (with Dickotomic and Máximo Deseo, among others) and the queens of Kopón Marikón, who will bring the most thuggish and necessary drag with Angel Fansy and Your Doll Dahlia. The final touch will be provided by the voice of Yaiza Yelo.

A firm institutional commitment

The event has the support of the Beniel City Council and the LGTBIQ+ Regional Network, reaffirming that the defense of human rights is a priority for the mayor’s office and the Equality Department. “In Beniel every identity matters,” the organization reminds us, inviting all “claiming and enjoying” people to join a historic day.
