Next Sunday, October 5, the Teatre de Cal Ninyo in Sant Boi, Barcelona will become a meeting point for reflection and demand with the arrival of Descolonizadxs, the Mostra de Cinema LGTBIQA+ Anticolonial. This event, promoted by Sant Boi in Positive TransVIH and Diversivas, promises to go beyond a simple projection, inviting the reader to question the deep colonial traces that still shape our societies, our bodies and our desires. Are we really free from these inheritances?
Voices from the Global South that Shake Consciences
The Mostra offers a careful selection of international short films that put queer experiences, voices and resistance from the Global South at the center. They are diverse stories that weave narratives of memory, identity and collective struggle, designed to shake consciences and open new horizons of thought. Each piece is a window to realities that are often invisible, but that are fundamental to understanding the complexity of LGTBIQ+ identities in a global context.
Maricx Sudaca Cabaret: An Explosion of Humor and Criticism
The day will not only be nourished by the seventh art. La Mazorra, with its provocative and irreverent Cabaret Maricx Sudaca, promises a scenic explosion that fuses humor, criticism and sensuality. Its objective is clear: to break with hegemonic discourses and reclaim dissident knowledge and pleasures. It will be a moment to laugh, to think and to feel, in a space where diversity is celebrated strongly and openly.
Sant Boi: A Commitment to Transformative Culture
With Descolonizadxs, Sant Boi reaffirms his unwavering commitment to a culture that transforms and to social justice. It is an invitation to live an experience where art, politics and desire intertwine, offering a clear commitment against colonialism and in favor of the decolonization of minds and lives. What role does art play in building a more just and equitable future for all?
Entry to this event has a symbolic cost of €3. However, the organization has made it clear that the economic barrier will not be an impediment: if it is not possible to cover the cost, the reader will still be able to enjoy the Mostra. Because access to culture and critical reflection should be for everyone.
