December arrives and with it, the flurry of celebrations. For many, it is synonymous with joy and reunions; for others, like the Lucy Octopussy, the Holidays are tinged with a deep melancholy and satiety. After a year of success and the constant hustle and bustle of her career—managed by her reputed representative and her team, which includes a peculiar sales guru and a young promise hot on her heels—Lucy finds herself on the brink of an emotional abyss. The drag that was once his vital engine now feels empty.

Christmas, far from inspiring her, depresses her.

Thus, on Christmas Eve, Lucy makes a radical decision: to end her suffering and get rid of her character, throwing away that world of wigs, sequins and cross-dressing. But, fortunately, tonight is special, one of those in which magic bursts into reality.

A Ghostly Journey Through the Glitter

The play “HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS TO BE A TRANSVESTI”, a production of LA PULPERÍA, lands in Madrid to rewrite the classic Christmas story. The protagonist, on the verge of giving up her art and her essence, is visited by three fundamental spirits who will guide her through a journey of self-discovery and reaffirmation.

The reader will encounter a luxury cast that embodies these spectral figures, all of them masters of transformation and performance:

  • Altagracia de la Palma he introduces himself as the Ghost of Drag Past, reminding Lucy of her origins and the initial spark that ignited her passion.
  • Domi Shameless takes on the role of the Present Ghost of Drag, showing the importance of art in the current moment and the impact it continues to have on its community.
  • Kim Jayne rounds out the trio as the Phantom of Future Drag, offering insight into what Lucy could lose if she decides to throw in the towel and leave the stage.

This supernatural encounter is the driving force of the play, a lesson in the resilience and undeniable beauty that lies in being a “piece of drag.”

The Spark of Being Who You Are

The central message of this proposal is as simple as it is profound: authenticity is the key to happiness. The show invites us to reflect on the reasons why a person is more genuine the closer he gets to the image he has dreamed of himself. What happens when the path of professional success begins to dilute the original passion? Is it possible to recover that deep connection with what defines us, even when fatigue or pressure takes over?

“HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS TO BE A TRANSVESTIQUE” is not just a function; is a celebration of the LGTBIQ+ spirit, an ode to drag art as a tool of empowerment and a reminder that, even in the darkest and most fatigued moments, there is always an extraordinarily beautiful reason to continue shining and being oneself.

It is an unmissable opportunity to rethink: how much value do we place on authenticity in a world that often pushes us to hide our brilliance?—–Event Details
