Next May 30, COGAM will celebrate the 35th edition of the Triángulo Awards, an event that, year after year, pays tribute to those who have stood out for their defense of the rights and dignity of LGTBIQ+ people. The gala will take place at the Espacio Larra in Madrid, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Recognitions with history

Far from being a simple awards ceremony, the Triangle are a political and cultural statement. At a time when hate speech and legislative setbacks threaten achievements that seemed consolidated, making the work of activists, artists, communicators and organizations visible becomes an essential tool for resistance.

The former president of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, will receive the Pink Triangle for his key role in the approval of equal marriage, a law that turns 20 in 2025 years. An anniversary that serves both to celebrate and to remember that no right is guaranteed without active surveillance.

Awards 2025: a diverse community

In this edition, COGAM wanted to highlight very diverse trajectories. The communicator Inés Hernand will be awarded the Triángulo Aliada, for her constant commitment to the group through humor, dissemination and digital activism.

Also recognized will be the content creator Carla Flila (Triángulo Visibilidad), the activist Oliver Marcos, general secretary of CESIDA (Triángulo Positivo), and the singer and percussionist Noelia Heredia ‘La Negri’ (Triángulo Cultura), who will also perform during the gala alongside Lucía Fernández.

On the other hand, the recognition Pedro Zerolo a la Trayectoria will go to the NGO Alas A Coruña, a key organization in the defense of the rights of trans people and migrants. And the Flag of militancy will be awarded to two historical figures of activism: Mario Campano and Sonia González.

When you also have to point out

In addition to celebrating, the Triángulo Awards also denounce. The one already known as Pink Brick, symbol of regression and intolerance, will be delivered this year to Judge Carlos del Valle, for his homophobic statements. A decision that is not surprising in a context where part of the judicial and political power aligns itself with reactionary discourses.

To what extent do awards serve as a shield against setback? Can culture, activism and representation counteract institutional hate? They are questions without simple answers, but necessary. What does seem clear is that spaces like these not only recognize, but also reaffirm a position: the firm, radical and constant defense of human rights.

A gala that is also a speaker

The event will be presented by the journalist and content creator Daniel Valero (Tigrillo) and the actress and activist Alma Gormedino. It will have the special collaboration of Álvaro Casas and Bianka Randell, from the podcast La Pastilla Gay.

Ronny de la Cruz, president of COGAM, summarizes it forcefully:
