From November 21 to 23, 2025, JaƩn will become the epicenter of Andalusian LGBTIQ+ activism with the celebration of the III Andalusian Pride Conference, a meeting that will bring together entities, activists, professionals and people committed to the defense of human rights, diversity and equality.

This forum, which has already established itself as one of the reference spaces in the south of Spain, picks up the baton of its previous edition in Conil de la Frontera, and takes it to the Andalusian interior. A symbolic and necessary gesture to continue breaking with the idea that visibility is only achieved in large capitals or on the coast.

A firm commitment to inclusion

The official announcement came after a meeting between the mayor of JaƩn, Julio MillƔn, the councilor for Equality, Eva Funes, and representatives of the Plataforma Orgullo JaƩn and the association Somos de Colores, which coordinates the organization of the event.

According to MillĆ”n, this event ā€œwill reinforce JaĆ©n’s commitment as an open, diverse and model city in the defense of human rights.ā€ For his part, Funes highlighted that the program under construction seeks to turn the capital of Jaen into a true LGTBIQ+ benchmark in Andalusia… and beyond.

Because yes, the objective is ambitious: to bring together associations, young people, professionals in the educational and social field, media and citizens in general to form, share and build community.

What can we expect from these days?

Although the program is still closing, it has already been announced that it will include:

  • Round tables and conferences with diverse voices from activism, education and politics.
  • Participatory workshops on key topics such as gender, sexual health or intersectionality.
  • Cultural and artistic activities that celebrate diversity through creativity.
  • Spaces for intergenerational dialogue, where young and old can share experiences and learning.
  • Professional meetings that promote alliances between the social, the institutional and the business.

One of the important focuses will be on making visible the reality of the LGTBIQ+ group in rural environments, a topic that is often relegated, despite its urgency.

One more step towards the Andalusian diversity network

From the association Somos de Colores, its secretary, Roberto Torres, has publicly thanked the City Council for its support and has stressed that this type of event cannot be reduced to a weekend of events: “We want stable programming throughout the year and continuous commitment. This forum is only part of the job.”

In addition, Torres has insisted that the conferences are a great opportunity to strengthen the Andalusian activism network and show the potential that JaƩn has at a social, institutional and cultural level.
