Barcelona is preparing to host the EPOA AGM 2025, the annual meeting of the European Prides, an event that promises to be a milestone in the history of the LGTBIQ+ movement. From October 9 to 12, 2025, Barcelona will become the meeting point for more than 200 Pride organizations from all over Europe, setting a record attendance and an unprecedented agenda.

An agenda that breaks the mold

This edition of the EPOA AGM is not just another one. For the first time, the meeting will extend over four days, exceeding the usual three days. In addition, the number of workshops and presentations has multiplied, offering an enriching space for debate and reflection on the challenges and advances of the LGTBIQ+ collective.

The agenda is a reflection of the diversity of experiences and struggles within the movement. Topics as varied as the history of the LGTBIQ+ collective in South Asia, the complex situation of the Ukrainian Prides in times of war, the evolution of Budapest Pride under the Orbán regime, or the trajectory of the LGTBIQ+ movement in Barcelona and its ambitious candidacy for WorldPride 2030 will be addressed. What can we learn from these different realities? How can we apply these lessons to strengthen the movement globally?

Institutional commitment and celebration of diversity

Barcelona’s commitment to human rights and diversity will be materialized with the official welcome to international delegations at City Hall on October 9, an institutional event that will be attended by the Mayor’s Office and the Generalitat of Catalonia.

But the meeting will not only be a space for work and debate; There will also be room for celebration. On October 10, the Parc del Tibidabo will host a festive event, a symbolic place to celebrate diversity and promote cultural exchange between the European Prides and the local prides of Catalonia.

The choice of Barcelona as the venue for the EPOA AGM 2025 consolidates its position as an international reference in the defense of LGTBIQ+ rights, reaffirming its commitment to equality and the construction of a freer and more diverse future for all. What impact will this meeting have on the visibility and rights of the group at the European level? Are we facing a turning point in the fight for equality?
