They denounce that the changes seek to erase specific mentions of the collective and “empty” guarantees without public debate. Therefore, they call for a concentration on July 30 in front of Les Corts Valencianes at 20:30 hours.
“Institutional exclusion”: the complaint from the LGTBIAQ+ associative fabric
Twenty-four LGTBIAQ+ entities have disseminated a joint statement against the amendments presented by Vox to the accompanying law to modify the Law 23/2018 on LGTBI Equality. The associations argue that the proposal represents a deliberate invisibilization: eliminating the explicit mention of the collective and replacing it with generic expressions.
In the words of the statement, it would be a maneuver to “empty the law”, eliminate specific guarantees, and alter the framework of rights “in silence”, without public debate or dialogue with the entities that have historically supported equality policies in the Comunitat Valenciana.
The text also denounces the replacement of terms like “LGTBI” with formulas like “all people” or “any type of discrimination”. The entities warn that this shift does not provide better protection: it dilutes the institutional response to LGTBIfobia and leaves those who need specific protection without real tools.
The 24 entities signing the statement

They demand LGTBI Consultative Council and explanations from the Consell
As a political response, the associations demand “the urgent convening of the LGTBI Consultative Council as a democratic space” to address what they describe as an institutional aggression that jeopardizes fundamental rights.
They also request the appearance of the councilor Susana Camarero, identified as the president of the body, to provide explanations to the associative movement regarding the political decisions made by the Valencian government and the parliamentary group that supports it.
In the statement, they warn that they will not accept “any more institutional contempt”, nor more maneuvers to silence the collective, nor allow a regression “without resistance”. In this context, they remind that “since the Popular Party governs the Generalitat” they denounce a strategy of deactivating participation spaces for the LGTBI collective “that are not aligned with it”.

Amendment XI079323: LGTBI equality in school, at discretion
Amendment XI079323 modifies articles 24 and 25 and eliminates the obligation to include LGTBI equality in educational projects. The decision would be left to the school councils.
The entities warn that this would mean leaving behind “those who most need the protection of institutions” and that school bullying due to LGTBIfobia would no longer be addressed specifically. They argue that prevention cannot depend on the will of the center, as it affects safety and the right to an education free from violence.
Amendment XI079324: from “LGTBI Memory Space” to “memory and freedom”
Amendment XI079324, which modifies article 38, empties the current LGTBI Memory Space —which had already been renamed from its original name l’Armari de la memòria— to be called Memory and Freedom Space, with a generalist approach to discriminations.
“We will not allow that history to be erased,” say the entities, who remind that the Comunitat Valenciana has been a reference in LGTBI rights thanks to the active participation of its associative fabric and policies that recognize a specific memory.
Amendment XI079325: repeal of temporary shelter housing
Amendment XI079325 calls for the repeal of article 14, which obliges the Generalitat to create housing for the temporary accommodation of LGTBI people at risk of social exclusion or extreme vulnerability.
The statement mentions specific profiles: young people expelled by their families, trans women, and elderly people. The entities argue that eliminating this resource implies cutting a basic protection network and exacerbating situations of precariousness, violence, and abandonment.
