Acclaimed Mexican director David Pablos invites us on a deep emotional journey with his latest work, “En el Camino” (On the Road). This film, which has already garnered important international recognition, promises to move the viewer with a story of love and survival in an environment that challenges conventions.
The Look of David Pablos: Beyond the Road
David Pablos, known for titles such as “Las Elegidas” and “El Baile de los 41”, returns to the fray with a cinematographic proposal that reaffirms his unique style. “On the Road” is not just a film about love between two men; is a brave exploration of masculinity in an adverse context: the world of truck drivers and highways, traditionally governed by heteronormative and hypermasculine codes.

The film immerses us in the internal battle of its protagonists Veneno and El Muñeco (Víctor Miguel and Osvaldo Sánchez), who fight to be vulnerable in a culture that often punishes sensitivity and represses affection. What does it mean to be strong when true strength lies in the ability to feel and love without fear? Pablos invites us to reflect on these issues, transcending emotional and geographical borders to offer a work that resonates with the LGTBIQ+ experience.
“An extremely tough and incredibly tender story of two men who fall in love on the deadly roads of Mexico.”
