“I was expelled, separated. They tried to exile me from my land. I never abandoned myself. I lost in many games in my childhood. I never lost my dignity, my desires, my identity.”
“Solitude does not exist” is the new Intimate Act of Santi Senso, a meeting that goes beyond a simple presentation. In this proposal, the artist exposes himself to loneliness to say: you do not exist. The event will be held on Friday, November 14 at 9:30 p.m. at the Press Palace in Madrid.
Senso will not be alone on stage: he will be accompanied by almost a hundred artists, among them the embracing voices of the Madrid Gay Men’s Chorus.
“I don’t appreciate what I went through to be who I am.”
The creator invites the public to enter the depths of the darkness, into the forest, to dialogue with the fears that inhabit us. Through his work, he raises the need to redefine the emotional and social heritage that we carry, questioning whether we wish to continue sustaining it. Senso invites us to reflect on whether the spectrum called solitude really exists, or if it is simply a construct that we allow to inhabit our bodies.
“In order not to be inhabited by that spectrum called loneliness, we must not forget where we come from, to know who we are and that we are not alone, alone, we are accompanied, accompanied by a legacy intoxicated with love.”

“The bogeyman, the bogeyman and the devil were my guardians of the night, they accompanied me, they took care of me, I never slept alone.”
Senso’s artistic drive seeks to provoke controversy, doubt and introspection. “I do not have an objective, a purpose to convince you, because it would frustrate me; I cannot take charge of your heartbeat, but I am responsible for what I explain to you. And that is to call things by their name, because there are names that should cease to exist such as Martyrdom, Anguish, Consuelo, Olvido and Soledad. They are names that stigmatize women, anchoring them to an etymology, a memory or an imposed tradition. Perhaps this It makes you uncomfortable, but my intention is not to provoke you, but to ask you: what, who is loneliness? Who taught you to feel it? How do you really know that it is what inhabits you and not another feeling, like incomprehension?
Senso proposes to the public to question how one learns to feel loneliness, and to distinguish it from the simple fact of being alone. “I do believe that loneliness does not exist. If you know it, introduce it to me, and I will tell it: you do not exist.”
This act is not limited to a single artistic form: “it is not only theater, a musical or cinema; this is not only constellation, healing… is it a performance? A presentation? It is just exposing myself, exposing ourselves. It is proposing, not imposing on you, the possibility of living this ceremony where loneliness does not exist.”
The artist invites you to participate in this experience from emotion and absolute love. “Without absolute truth, with love at all.” And he adds a question: “how can you forget the wisdom that our ancestors have left us?”
About himself, Senso expresses: “They say that I am an anthropological dadaist, an emotional forceps, that being with me is like practicing apnea, that I am a catalytic object, a guru, shaman, angel, magician, healer, invasive, transgressive, that I make uncomfortable, that I am disturbing, that I displace and misplace. I will not be the one invalidate how you feel, but if I have to present myself, I will do so as a man with fear; a fear that does not paralyze me, it mobilizes me.”
His artistic creation expands to cinema, theater, music, painting, sculpture, literature and ancestral popular festivals. “I am responsible for being a grandson, son, brother, friend, neighbor, partner and lover, a dyslexic who does not correct this heartbeat, as it makes me redefine and create new ways of seeing each other. I was born under the sign of Virgo with an ascendant in Cancer and the moon in Aries. According to my human design, I have come to give technical form to my wisdom and I am a threat.”
The artist defines himself as a mortal who fears not death, but “not leaving in this life the legacy of a love that accompanies those who suffer from loneliness.”
“They say that I set and serve the table and that the public sets the banquet, and that I do not play a character, but rather the emotions of the diners.”
During the event, Senso will share images, songs, dance and stories from the family oral tradition that make it up. “Maybe there, in this my story, you will recognize yourself so as not to feel what you call loneliness and you will begin to call it ‘the wisdom that lives in this hug.’”
The creator invites the public: “I wait for you alone, just not alone. Or maybe I wait for you, if you come accompanied, accompanied by solitude, then you are not alone, alone.”
Senso will be accompanied on stage by the actor Alberto Amarilla, the Madrid Gay Men’s Choir, the folklore group Raíces Extremeñas along with El Gato con Jotas, the actress and singer Shabella Rouse, and the artists CJ Ramírez, Gema Fatela and Jesús Mena, under the direction of David Ramiro Rueda. Also collaborating are the composer Pablo Bas, the painter J.A.D.U., The Factor Project, Al Pecho Producciones, Hyper Uranio Films, Liceo TV, and the photographers Javi EF (Zenit Visual Studio), Jorge Arbesu and Robert López Valverde, along with the costumes of CF Custom Hats and Extrearte, among other creators and artists.
The event will also have a Spanish Sign Language (SSL) interpreter in charge of Comunicados.
“I will be with you to accompany us.”
