Jaén is preparing to be, for the first time in its history, the epicenter of Andalusian LGTBIQ+ activism. Between November 21 and 23, 2025, the capital of Jaén will host the III Andalusian Pride Conference, a space that transcends the celebration to consolidate itself as a nerve center for training, dialogue and collective strategy for the defense of diversity in southern Europe.

This meeting, which has already passed through Conil de la Frontera, is establishing itself as an essential traveling event. It is organized by the association and podcast Somos de Colores and the Andalusian Pride Platform, and its objective is clear: to strengthen community ties and chart a common path in the face of growing hate speech.

The Heartbeat of the Community in Andalusia

More than forty entities and groups from the eight Andalusian provinces will meet at these events, which underlines the robustness and need of this autonomous movement. For Felipe García, president of Somos de Colores, the essence of Andalusian Pride lies precisely in its ability to be a driver of action: “It is not just a celebration: it is a space for reflection, training and collective action. We want Jaén to become the heart of Andalusian activism for three days, a place where we can share experiences, take care of ties and continue defending our rights from joy and unity,” he states with conviction.

The program of activities is as broad as it is relevant to the current reality of the LGTBIQ+ community. They will range from presentations to practical workshops, touching on fundamental topics.

Central themes of the conference:

  • Inclusive communication strategies.
  • Visibility and diversity in rural areas.
  • Mental health and emotional well-being.
  • Comprehensive affective-sexual education.
  • Historical memory of Andalusian activism.
  • Analysis of public policies on equality and diversity.

The diversity of the topics demonstrates the comprehensive vision of the meeting, understanding that the fight for rights is waged on multiple fronts, from the personal to the institutional.

Spaces with History for an Inclusive Future

The event will take place in two settings of great cultural and institutional value in Jaén: the Old School of Teaching of the University of Jaén and the Arab Baths – Palacio de Villardompardo.

Inter-institutional collaboration is key to carrying out the sessions. The Vice-Rector for Equality, Diversity and Social Responsibility of the UJA, the Department of Equality of the Jaén City Council and the Area of Equality, Social Policies and Youth of the Provincial Council have joined forces to support this space for coexistence and construction.

“This event shows that Andalusia continues to be a reference in the defense of diversity”, says Roberto Torres, communications coordinator of Somos de Colores. And he adds a crucial reflection: “In the face of hate speech, the answer lies in education, empathy and community”. The conferences are, in themselves, an open invitation to participate in building a more respectful future.

The program is structured to guarantee maximum participation and use of the contents:
