- Social mobilization: Lambda calls for a rally in front of the Valencia City Council on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00 p.m..
- Institutional alert: The group denounces that the PP and Vox reforms open the door to “conversion therapies” prohibited by the UN.
- Previous agenda: On Saturday, March 28, a panel of trans and non-binary experiences will be held at the association’s headquarters.
The Lambda collective commemorates Trans Visibility Day this March 31 in Valencia with a rally to denounce institutional transphobia and legislative setbacks. The entity warns about the dismantling of achieved rights and the impact of far-right speeches on the most vulnerable people.
Rally against “institutional transphobia”
The main event will take place on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00 p.m. in front of the Valencia City Council. Under the framework of Trans Day of Visibility, activists from Lambda and Chrysallis will read a joint manifesto to demand an end to the attacks on the Valencian Trans Law.
From the group they denounce that the modifications promoted by the PP and Vox government represent a step backwards in a state that was an international reference. In addition, they recall that the Government of Spain presented an appeal to the Constitutional Court in February against these autonomous reforms.

The danger of “conversion therapies”
One of the most critical points made by Lambda is that current legal changes could facilitate so-called conversion therapies. Nhabi Iturbide, an activist with the organization, warns that these practices are considered a “form of torture” according to the UN.
“The right to identity cannot be put on the same level as a person being uncomfortable with our presence in public spaces,” says Iturbide. The activist emphasizes that, in this context of regression, trans visibility is a necessary tool of resistance to guarantee a dignified life.
Intersectionality and health without pathologization
Lambda focuses on the risk suffered by trans and non-binary people who are racialized or in an irregular administrative situation. Failure to comply with the protocols for changing name and registered sex increases the danger of expulsion to their countries of origin, where many suffered persecution.
In the health field, the manifesto of March 31 will include the following demands:
- Access to health without restrictions or bureaucratic waits.
- Medical personnel specifically trained in trans realities.
- Definitive abandonment of pathologizing and outdated ideas in the consultation.
The day of struggle will begin earlier, on Saturday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m., with a table of experiences at the Lambda headquarters where people from the collective will share their daily realities in the face of the increase in hate speech in Europe.
