Summer is almost upon us like that friend who always shows up with cold beers and a desire for a plan. For many lesbian, bisexual, and queer women, this season is more than a vacation: it is a time to reconnect—with nature, with each other, and also with ourselves.

2025 is not going to repeat the same thing. Get ready for skies full of meteors, readings without lesbian tragedies, routes in freedom and night talks that are worth a thousand matches.  Here is your rainbow guide to a diverse, real summer full of possibilities.

This summer we don’t just show off flags: we also raise our voices (and our fans). And we don’t just want to talk to you about the big stages of the capitals, because Pride also beats—and very strongly—in towns, small cities and neighborhoods where visibility is built with effort, complicity and a lot of love.

In every corner where it is celebrated, there are people who do their best to ensure that there is a safe, festive and inclusive space. Therefore, this guide has room for all those initiatives that deserve the same recognition and applause.

That said, we leave you some of the highlighted events of 2025:

  • Madrid (MADO) – July 2, Plaza Pedro Zerolo. La Plexy with Juanjo, Martín, Violeta and Chiara (OT 2023 finalists). Spoiler: they may release a great song.
  • Seville – June 26 in the Alameda. Belén Esteban, Chanel, Melody and Las Ketchup: guaranteed high.
  • Jaén – Zahara takes the stage at Parque del Bulevar on June 20. Guaranteed excitement.
  • Mérida – Bob Pop announces with glitter, reflection and drag on June 14.
  • Jerez – Fernando Soto and good flamenco, gypsy art and vindication, on June 13.
  • Badajoz – Music, poetry and activities for everyone, June 21 in the Plaza Alta. El Palomo Cojo Festival (June 27–30). Culture, diversity and pigeons with a lot of art.

Family Plans

We know that many of us have daughters, sons, sons… and that we want them to grow up knowing that their family is just like any other: valid, loved and unique. Therefore, this summer there is also space for rainbow families to enjoy together, make their reality visible and share unforgettable moments.

And when talking about family, we do not forget those who paved the way: our elders. Because they also deserve safe spaces to express themselves, meet and feel an active part of the community.

Here are some rainbow plans for all ages:

  • Plumas y Patitas (Madrid, June 29): a great plan with a parade of pets, LGTBI+ storytellers, workshops, games and a lot of multicolored love. Ideal to spend a day with the family and see how diversity shines from a young age.
  • Cinema under the stars and activities with Flow. In places like Puebla de la Sierra, Seville, Santander and Murcia you will find family events with high-heeled races, movies without heteronorms and activities designed for all ages. Fun, respect and representation.
  • “LGTBI+ Seniors” Project in San Sebastián de los Reyes (June 23–27): lesbian visibility, shared walks, cultural activities and manifestos where our seniors take the floor. Because they are also the memory, future and present of the collective.

A summer to live as a family—whatever yours is—with pride, tenderness and shared joy.

Readings for this summer.

This summer is also time to take in your hands one of the greatest treasures that human beings have created: books. Because reading means taking care of yourself, imagining possible futures and seeing ourselves reflected in stories that do us good.

And if we are clear about one thing, it is that we have already had enough sad endings. For this reason, we opt for readings without bollodrama: without forced tragedies, with dignified representation, with pleasure, humor and freedom. Here are three gems to enjoy this summer:

  • With great pleasure – Bel Olid. Fresh, feminist stories, so involving that you will forget about your cell phone.
  • Sandro’s girlfriend – Carla Guimarães. Diverse bodies, desire and samba: pure narrative joy.
  • The summer of rock women – Anthology that smells like leather jackets, friendship and freedom.

Plan idea: start an outdoor lesbian book club. You just need a blanket, a good book, friends who want to talk and something delicious to share. Because reading together is also a way of loving each other.

Getaways and looks at the sky

Sometimes what we need most is not a big party, but a reunion. With ourselves, with our friends, with nature… That is why this summer we propose meaningful getaways, plans where silence, laughter and the open sky act as a balm and celebration.

Whether to disconnect, reconnect or simply be there, there are a thousand ways to experience summer in a rainbow way:

  • LBT+ rural retreats: spaces of care and enjoyment between women: yoga, writing, self-care, foods that embrace and conversations that do not need filters.
  • Queer-friendly rural houses: in Galicia, the Pyrenees or Gredos. Fireplaces, routes, glasses of wine and intimate conversations that last until the dew falls.
  • Glamping under the stars: sleep watching meteors, with mattress included. Luxury, open sky and the magic of feeling part of something bigger.
  • Under the sky: stars, planets and wishes. Although the Strawberry Moon has already given us its moment, there are still astronomical wonders to see:
    • June 22: meteor shower like the Lyrids.
    • June 19–20: Mars and the Moon conjunct.
    • Venus and Saturn visible at dawn. A heavenly spectacle to share.

Star proposal: organize a lesbian hangout to look at the sky. Park, blanket, chill playlist, cool drink… and those friends you haven’t seen in a while. Because there is nothing more beautiful than feeling part of the universe… and of a community that embraces you.

You can find many of these plans on networks, forums or through associations such as Lesworking, Crisol, G-Sports Fundación Triángulo or Extremadura Entiende.

This summer is an invitation to stop, look up… and smile when we feel that we are right where we want to be.

Dancing and Singing with Rhythm

If you are one of those who can’t miss a good song, loves to do some dance steps (even if it’s in the kitchen) and always has something creative to say… this summer you have no excuse.

There are proposals for you everywhere, because shining is also about moving, sharing and expressing yourself with what you carry inside.

Here are some plans for you to take out your art without asking permission:

  • Dance workshops: bachata between girls, queer flamenco, tribal dance… Rhythms to loosen the body and feel more yourself than ever, for example, you have the queer bachata workshop, organized by SoulDance Granada. Dates planned in June/July (confirm dates on their Instagram) and also the Escápate y Baila Granada which are outdoor bachata salsa sessions. Check out their Instagram during June and find out everything.
  • Karaoke nights: Are you more into Rigoberta, María Pelae or La Mare? It doesn’t matter: get on stage (or at the table) and sing as if there were no Monday. For example, at Karaoke El Vinilo, Palacio Valdés street in Gijón every day from 10:00 p.m. Or on other karaoke and drinks nights at gay venues like Oh La L.
  • Open mics, poetry and perfos: cafes, bookstores and bars where diversity is celebrated with words, images, flavors and emotion.
  • Urban routes without labels: explore your city with new eyes. Groups of girls, safe spaces, walks with history and shared laughter.

This summer, your creativity also has a place. You just need a little daring, a crazy desire to have fun… and that shine you’re already wearing.

After all the proposals that we have shared with you—readings without drama, routes with stars, parties in large and small cities, workshops, retreats, dances and meetups—you have no excuse: this summer has your name.

It’s our time. A summer without clichés, without hiding, without asking permission. With stars that guide us, dances that release us, books that hug us and conversations that heal us. A lesbian summer, free, diverse and fun. Like you. Like us. Like everyone.

See you in the square, under the moon or in that improvised reading club. With pride, with joy and with great desire.

And remember: every Pride counts. If this year you celebrate your city’s year—be it Madrid or a small town with a lot of heart—tell us! Because we also want to make visible those spaces where the rainbow spreads with community love.

Happy summer, rainbow companions. We see you dancing, reading, shining.
