Great news for Eurovision fans! Chanel, the singer who represented Spain in 2022 with her hit ‘SloMo’, will be in charge of giving the 12 points of our country in the edition of Eurovision 2025. This was announced by RTVE in a press conference held recently, where Chanel was excited about this new challenge.
Chanel and Melody: Two voices united by Eurovision
For the first time, Chanel and Melody met at an event related to Eurovision, and it was a meeting full of affection and mutual respect. Melody, who will be the representative of Spain at the 2025 festival, and Chanel shared words of support and admiration, like two great artists who have marked their respective paths in music.
María Eizaguirre, director of Communication and Participation at RTVE, invited attendees to applaud both artists: “This applause is for artists like them, brave, willing to take a step forward and assume a great responsibility, like that of Eurovision.” Chanel, visibly moved, dedicated a message of support to Melody: “I have followed her since she started and I feel very identified with her. Melody is strength, love, and empowerment. I am by her side 100% and I admire her deeply,” said the singer.
When asked what advice she would give to the ‘ESA DIVA’ interpreter, Chanel was sincere: “What am I going to say to Melody? I saw her when I was little and I wanted to be like her. She has been one of my mentors.” And, as a final message, Chanel told Melody: “Enjoy it to the fullest, because this only happens once in a lifetime. You have the support of all of Spain and I am sure that you will enjoy every moment.”

For her part, Melody was also grateful to Chanel and dedicated some very emotional words to her. “We like to give our opinion ahead of time, but in the end the stage is where an artist shows himself,” he commented. Melody recalled the negative comments that Chanel received before her participation in Eurovision 2022, and strongly defended her: “Chanel gave a memorable performance. She proved to be a great artist, and that’s what matters: what you do on stage, not what others say.”

Benidorm will witness the moment
On May 17, 2025, we will be able to see Chanel as spokesperson for the Spanish jury during the Eurovision final. This year, the singer will give the 12 points from Benidorm, becoming the successor of Soraya Arnelas, who in 2009 performed ‘The night is for me’ in the same position.
It should be remembered that Chanel also participated as a guest artist in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2024, where she once again performed ‘SloMo’ before thousands of fans at the Malmö Arena. Regarding this change of roles, from artist on stage to spokesperson for the jury, Chanel was reflective: “I haven’t released music for a year and a half because I’ve been working hard in the studio. When the opportunity to be spokesperson arose, I knew it was the perfect time to take this step. Everything fits with what’s next in my career.”
Chanel shared that this time of work has allowed her to mature as an artist: “Although it may seem that I am apart, it has been a very fruitful path.
