The Majestic hotel fuses the seven artistic disciplines with history, elegance and LGTBIQ+ sensitivity throughout April
Barcelona spring blooms with art, and the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona knows it well. On the occasion of International Art Day and the Barcelona Art Season campaign, this emblematic hotel brings to life the Majestic Art Month, a unique cultural proposal that runs through April celebrating the seven artistic disciplines — literature, music, architecture, dance, cinema, sculpture and painting—from a sensitive, open approach deeply rooted in the identity of the city. A tribute that also embraces the diversity, talent and memory of those who have made art an act of freedom, among them many LGTBIQ+ people.
A hotel with the soul of a gallery
More than 1,000 works by artists such as Chillida, Tàpies or Jaume Plensa populate the halls, hallways and rooms of the Majestic. But in April, art goes beyond the frames and takes shape in performances, routes and multi-sensory experiences open to both guests and locals. It all begins on April 3 with an emotional tribute to Federico García Lorca, queer poet par excellence, who lived and wrote within the walls of the hotel in 1935. Emotion took over the lobby with performances by Miguel Poveda and Joan Manuel Serrat, and a plaque was installed as a testimony of his passing.

When every day is a different discipline
On April 7, modernist architecture was the protagonist with a guided route along Paseo de Gracia, and on 8, dance transformed the lobby into an intimate ballet stage. The next day, the violinist Caio Ferraz returned the spotlight to classical music with a live performance that moved those present.

On April 23, coinciding with Sant Jordi, the Majestic will celebrate its traditional solidarity day together with the IRES Foundation. 1,200 roses will be sold for charity, and each one of them will hide a surprise experience to share. There will also be a photocall for anyone who wants to capture the memory of this beloved date in Catalan culture.
The painting will arrive on April 24 with Art & Cocktails: a painting session guided by the artist Mireia Vilà, with live music and signature cocktails. On April 29, the collective Ornamante will invite those who attend to personalize unique sculptures of humanized animals. And to close the month, on April 30, cinema will be the finishing touch with a talk by critic Francisco Javier Millán about the Star Wars saga and its cultural impact.
A tribute to art… and difference
The Majestic Art Month is not just a luxury cultural agenda. It is a statement of intent: art has no gender or labels, and is most powerful when it is free. Therefore, spaces like this take on special meaning when they claim figures like Lorca, who even today inspires us to live authentically. The hotel’s proposal not only promotes art, it also highlights a city that is proud of its diverse history and its plural visitors.
