The Centro Niemeyer is hosting the 11th LGTBI Film Festival in Avilés, Asturias. Running from April 9th to 19th, 2026, following the ticket launch on March 20th, the event aims to celebrate diversity and identity through a curated cinematic selection that champions emerging talent and social reflection.
A Premier Lineup: Feature Films and Shorts for Reflection
This year’s edition stands out for its solid and diverse cinematic program. The festival will kick off with the feature film “Este cuerpo mío” by Afioco Gnecco and Carolina Yuste, a work that promises an emotional start to the opening session. In total, audiences will enjoy 9 feature films, including titles such as “Els mals noms”, “Between Goodbyes”, and the highly anticipated “Lesbian Space Princess”, closing the cycle with “Iván & Hadoum” by Ian de la Rosa.
Furthermore, the competition featuring 10 short films is divided into two intense sessions on Sunday, April 12th and 19th. The selection includes pieces by renowned directors like Daniel Sánchez Arévalo with his short “Pipiolos”, alongside compelling proposals like “Curmán” by Alejandro Jato, ensuring a comprehensive look at modern queer aesthetics and discourse.

Visual culture takes center stage with the exhibition “findesiglo” by David Trullo, while literature and social debate meet in specialized sessions such as those dedicated to LGTBI+ book clubs.
The festival also embraces nightlife and music with:
